welcome to Advanced Energy Storage Materials LAB (AESM) in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at Pukyong National University!
『Researching for Advanced Energy Storage Materials』
Recently, with the striking improvement of the renewable energy industry, the development of advanced materials has been highly required and its demands are getting grow up. Especially, studies for Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) to achieve high energy density, extended lifetime, and safety properties are regarded as the most promising technology leading the 4th industrial revolution.
In this regard, our lab focuses on studies about high-performance cathode/anode materials for LIBs, including nickel-rich, graphite anode, silicon anode, and lithium metal anode. Furthermore, to mitigate resource waste and environmental pollution, we conduct recycling research of cathode materials. We are also conducting studies on futuristic battery systems which involves solid electrolyte for all-solid-state batteries, redox flow batteries, and metal-air batteries. We are seeking to utilize these innovative battery materials to build a greener world for the future.
The ultimate goal of AESM is to accelerate and develop better batteries. To fulfill the increasing demands for energy consumption, various advanced energy storage materials are synthesizing and analyzing to achieve high-performance rechargeable battery systems.
